Waiters & Non-waiters .

I've talked about the topic of virginity and waiting until marriage before. In my experience it seems that while the rest of the teenage/young adult population galavants off into the sunset with their sexual exploits, I am one of the few that has chosen to wait. It's just a personal decision, and that's what I want to do with my life. While it certainly is an unpopular decision, I know a few others who share the same sentiment (or at least did at one point). Thankfully, I've been strong enough to stay true to my decision, and everyone I've dated that I have told that decision about has welcomed it despite their own beliefs. Well I happened to stumble upon this site called WaitingTillMarriage.org, and it instantly makes you realize just how many people there are that are actually waiting.



The opening line on the site is something that's just so awesome to me; it states immediately:

Hi friend! Are you waiting on sex? You're not alone anymore.

It was honestly such a breath of fresh air and I began to delve into the tons of information here. Information on how to stay strong, how to date other people who didn't wait, the differences between waiters and non-waiters and what sorts of emotions go through each of those people with sexual histories.

At the end of the day, it's great to see something that reinforces a decision I made a very long time ago, and makes me excited to be able to one day reach the end of the tunnel and say, I made it all the way through that.

While it seems that kids are starting to lose their virginity at a younger and younger age, I hope that maybe waiting will make a comeback in this country and around the world. But, a man can only dream.  If you're a waiter, reading this somewhere in a hidden corner of the world, remember that you are not alone. There are so many others: others who hold sex in the highest regard, reserved for the expression of love to thread the tightest knot to another soul. So if you're struggling with waiting, don't give up just yet. If you've been looking for another who is also a waiter, don't give up hope. They are out there. Sometimes you just need to look a little harder.
