Upon walking in I was offered water or tea while I was doing my pre-massage paperwork (who knew there even was such a thing?). The room was very zen; no overhead lighting, but only lamps placed in specific places. I've never been to a massage parlor (is that even what they're called?) before, and so this was completely new and different. In fact, the lights are so dim in there that from the outside it doesn't even look like they're open.
After determining what areas I wanted to focus on etc. etc. I went and waited for my specific massage therapist (massagist? massage specialist? who knows) in the "Tranquility Room." Haha. I got a good internal chuckle out of that.
And then it was go time. Go into your little room just off the dimly lit hallway, get debriefed, and then you're ready to go. It's certainly a smooth operation. I asked her to focus on neck, back and shoulders, and I have to say that portion was awesome.
Now, I didn't expect any problems to just disappear after one massage, but it was enjoyable! I could never pay the however much it is per month to keep getting them all the time though. But the gift card was really nice and nice to experience once, the overall experience.
I suppose at the end of the day, we're all allowed to be pampered once in awhile. :)
pre-massage paperwork...hilarious
