Trail Day: Dupont Forest, NC

Today was a huge success. There were only two of us, myself and a good friend, but we drove up in the not-so-early morning to Dupont Forest State Park, located just over the state line. The climbs were a bit out of our league, and the air was a bit on the brisk side, but we soon warmed up and our fingers lost their numbness as the blood pumped through our bodies. The downhills were long, windy and challenging and there were even some rock gardens hidden on the mountain (which we might have tried had there not been ice all over them). Overall, a blast. And I can't even begin to imagine how many calories we burned... but why type when I can show you? Video below:

  1. Cool video. Looks like you were building up some serious speed there at the 2:12 mark!

    1. the whole trail is actually really fast -- we started on the mountain loop trail and moved onto the ridgeline one. It was truly wild -- the camera unfortunately makes it look a little slower than it feels, but hey, still so exhilarating!

    1. Well, I seem to recall you're in Beaufort and the NC state line isn't too far away! Definitely worth a drive up there one day, if you haven't been! There's also plenty of creeks and waterfalls too; it's a gorgeous area!
