So I was sitting here watching TV, wondering what to blog about. A Subaru commercial came on with a hot air balloon, and upon being asked where he was going, his answer was "wherever the wind takes me." I think there are two types of people in life. There are those who go with the flow and let the wind blow them where it may. And then there are those that constantly try to control every moment and situation. Is there a middleground? Maybe. Some float in between, some float back and forth. But I think that the best things happen to us when we least expect them, when we are floating.
It's nice that we can make our own decisions. It's nice that we have the freedom to make decisions, choose careers, marry who we want to. It's a luxury that doesn't always exist in a country. But if you fret over every decision and choice you have in life, you miss the things that just envelop you as they pass you by. To be cliché, sometimes it's nice to stop and smell the roses. Let the sun shine on your face, let the wind blow your hair, listen to the waves. I had a chance to do that recently, as I spent 2 days in Long Beach Island. Let me tell you, it was bliss.
So the next time you're worried about all the decisions you need to make... maybe it's the perfect time to let the wind take you where it may. Give it a chance -- what's the worst that could happen?
