simple words of wisdom .

There are two quotes I want to talk about today. The first is from one of the daily devotionals I get in my email. The other is from something I saw on a friend's blog. They're simple, yet profound, as is often the case.

The first, from the devotional, was about a barista who happened to remember a man by name who had only been in Starbucks once. At one point in the conversation, she went on the say,

"You have to take the bad days with the good. You mix them up, and it's all good - because God doesn't make mistakes."

On the days that we feel we are suffering and begin to pity ourselves, remember that on the horizon there is always another day. There will always be something better for you. And even if it gets worse for years to come; the sky will always brighten. The tunnel will always end. And you will eventually crawl out of whatever hole you fell into. It's not simply being optimistic, for there is a difference. Optimists see the good in all situations. But anyone can hope for a better tomorrow, no matter how much you suffer on a given day.

The most important part that hit me was that God doesn't make mistakes. There is nothing that happens that is not the way it's supposed to be. There may be misfortune, but perhaps it is always pointing towards a better tomorrow. I'd be lying if I said that I was never down on myself. I'd be lying if I said I was never upset, angry, hateful, ungrateful... chase your poison with hope. Rely on your faith, and depend on tomorrow being a better day. For as bad as today may be, tomorrow will be equally as good.

The second little thing I want to just briefly mention is this:

"Holding her hand in public is just another of saying you're proud to have her."

The little things -- make all the difference.

Enjoy the night friends.
