completing an 'about me' .

Since the time I started this blog almost 2 years ago I have never had an "about me" or an "about the author" section anywhere on my blog. I typed out my little blurb that goes underneath my picture in the sidebar, which I suppose I assumed sufficed for all intensive purposes. At one point (probably over a year after I first started blogging) I changed it around a little bit, as my thoughts on it had changed, as they often do over the years. And yet still, I fail to have an "About Me" tab.

It's not easy to sit down and write about yourself. Do you write an essay, a novel, or a life chronicle? Do you write a short blurb and call it a day? Do you slave over it for days perfecting it to be just the way you want it or do you just wing it and hope that it's all you want to be?

And so that's where I am at. I still want to put an about me section on here, partly so those who I've already met get a bit more of an idea of who I am, and partly so those who are curious new readers can digitally and virutally "meet" me. It's always nice to get a little bit of an idea of the person who's behind the words. Am I right?

So here's my question for you guys -- if and when you started writing an 'about me' or a 'my story' or something of the like... where did you begin? What things did you include?

  1. I did a 100 things about me list, actually twice. It was hard to think up two hundred things about me, but I made it. I bet I could probably squeeze out another hundred if I tried really hard.

  2. : ) I have a same problem, my 'about me' goes like this: I am. : ). I actually believe this is a part that should be written by other... Someone with better view on who we really are... x

    1. Good point. But then the problem lies of finding someone who really knows who you are!

    2. Perhaps not, perhaps using few different people with different views on who they perceive you are... Looking at one from different angle can be good insight... : )

  3. Mine is pretty short and sweet. I think of it more as a teaser...your daily writings tell your readers who you are. You're already doing it, my friend.

  5. I went and took a look at my "about me" page to answer this. Mine doesn't really say much. It gives a general feel of what I write about and what my attitude is like, but that's all. I remember struggling with what to write there as well... maybe I should change it again...
