It's Friday, and today was interesting -- It's strange when Dave isn't going to be there for studio because it seems like I don't even have a class. Which of course, is fine with me. But my mind was really on other things. There was a trip to Charleston planned for this weekend. Taylor graciously invited the apartmates home to Charleston (but not really Charleston) for the weekend. She likes to say she lives in Charleston, but it's really Mount Pleasant, which is right near Charleston :).
It took a little bit to get going but once we got on the road it really wasn't that bad of a drive. After driving to Vermont last winter 8 hours straight on my own, this definitely wasn't bad at all.
It'll be interesting to see what secrets and exciting things this weekend holds. Going home with somebody new is always interesting, to see where they grow up, what their house looks like and what their family looks like also. It's interesting to see their favorite places in town, and their favorite restaurants. And of course, just their daily day to day activities.
I've been to Charleston once, but it was briefly. It was only 1 day / afternoon. I ran the Cooper River Bridge run, and it was really fun and I did really well. We spent the rest of the afternoon in downtown Charleston, checking out Market Street and eating at Sticky Fingers.
So here's my take on Charleston, as a predecessor to this weekend. Granted I've only been once. I love New York City, and maybe when I hear that something is a city I expect it to be bigger. For me Charleston was just okay when I was there. It was kinda small and I didn't like how all the houses were close together. Rainbow row is one of the most famous things of Charleston, to my knowledge, but I thought it was kinda corny. It's pretty no doubt, and I'm sure some of the things I think about it this weekend will be changed and or altered. I'm looking forward to a fun weekend !
Lyric of the day:
"and I could care less how y'all feel, I got the flow to make a bitch do a cartwheel"
I'm astonished that you think Charleston is "just okay." It's one of my favorite places in South Carolina..
